After discussing the issue with @bradplumer @mattyglesias, it’s clear that Civilization II proves Ben Carson’s pyramid/grain theory.

Not all pyramids were built to store grain but there is archeological evidence to prove that some of the early ones were. There is also validity to the Joseph claim. But like all things archeological there are opposing views.
