You tell me, because there are folks out there now, including right here, calling for Trump to apologize. Why? because he repeated the story? As if it hasn't been repeated 10,000 times since this morning.
It's not, and a majority of Republican primary voters will know this. Trump is a polished realityTV star with a shtick that will wear off. He won't be the GOP nominee. The only votes he'll get in a general election are dead-enders who insist on writing people in and wasting their vote.
A proper conservative candidate should be (a) smart enough to detect media lies and (b) of sufficient character to call the lying 'Rats out, even if their target is his chief rival.
