To the skeptic, there is not enough evidence in the universe to 'prove' God's existence. It is 'faith' that what the Bible says is true, and what Jesus says about Himself is true, that saves. There is however, much evidence of God's existence both in his Creation and in His Word. In John 20:29, Jesus talks of those who believe without seeing Him.
To me, it takes greater 'faith' to believe that 'something', what we call 'the universe' (time, space, all matter and energy), spontaneously appeared from nothing, with no 'first cause', breaking the first law of thermodynamics. If that weren't enough, it takes extreme 'faith' to believe that certain inanimate chemicals can spontaneously animate, transforming into highly complex single celled organisms. The mycoplasma genitalium has one of the smallest genomes, at 525 genes. (compare E. coli at 4,288 genes) According to this 2012 article in The Atlantic, "It took a cluster of 128 computers running for 9 to 10 hours to actually generate the data on the 25 categories of molecules that are involved in the cell's lifecycle processes.". Life is irreducibly complex. The odds of such a simple living organism spontaneously animating, are astronomical.
If, in fact, there is one error in the Bible, it is rendered worthless because it reveals that God is not omniscient and, as Paul put it, Christians are to be pitied above all others for our faith. Jesus pointed out errors in the INTERPRETATION of the Tanakh by the Pharisees and religions leaders, NOT errors in the texts, or 'errors' in Him!
