You don’t get a scholarship to WP. You get an appointment by a Congress Critter. Oh yeh, the education is paid for by the Gov but you also owe them 5 years service in return.
You get nominated by your Senator or Congressman. Then you get appointed by the Secretary of the Army, if I recall correctly. It was many years ago.
