Prayers being said for the sick kitty. FWIW, I have a dear friend whose kitty would get the same UT issues. For her, it had to do with the “potash” in many foods and lack of drinking fluids (common for cats). She fixed the issue with a special food and beef stock added to it. Prayers again.... My first kitty had urinary problems too. I ended up with a very good vet who told me to use Hills for urinary problems. It worked, she had a very long life, for a cat.

Feeding a cat only dry food is an invitation for urinary tract infections, IMO. Had the same problem with a cat and switched to only wet food and a minimal feeding of raw chicken livers daily, and the problem went away. But urinary tract infection has gotta be remedied early or the cat can die.

My kitty has been on Hills W/D Prescription Diet for approx. 12 years now and the only times she has been to the vet was a year after I got her and she was still morbidly obese, she broke her hind leg trying to jump onto my bed.

The second time was when she somehow developed a cold and eye infection.

My cat has been incredibly healthy and I attribute that to the fact that Squeek DOES NOT GO OUTSIDE......

My male cat began behaving strangely- urinating in the house, bloody urine in the bathtub, etc. Turns out he had urinary issues from ash content in regular cat food. Now it’s expensive special diet and filtered water 24/7!
