Ever since I left the Catholic Church I have believed that one should avoid costly middlemen and deal DIRECTLY with God. This guy confirms my belief.

But the problem here is that you don’t exist by and for yourself, but for and with everyone else. You can come to your own conclusions, and so can your neighbor. You may not like his conclusions, not he yours. Humans have wonderful capabilities of rationalization, can convince themselves of anything - literally.
Let me tell you what happened to me during my last eye surgery. I was awake during it and part was very painful. I just said, “okay, God, You are going to have to help me through this.” He did and I started singing “Amazing Grace” to myself and parts of 2 other songs. He is all He said He was. We do not need a pope or anyone else.
