My G Grandfather and two of his Brothers fought at Chickamauga with the 18th Alabama.

One of my great-uncles was with A Co. 24th Alabama Infantry. KIA in the defense of Atlanta. He was eligible for a deferment, he volunteered anyway.

He and both of his Brothers were captured in some battle.

Surprisingly they were all exchanged fairly quickly and finished the war back with the 18th.
