Republicans/conservatives : No one eats their own like we do.

Posted on 09/19/2015 10:47:37 AM PDT by BuckeyeGOP

I don't post a lot here but I do pop in and skim threads frequently from time to time especially during politically charged periods like now. I expect this to be a place where people of like ideology can discuss the good and bad about our candidates always keeping the greatest vitriol reserved for the other side. That's not the case though. If I were reading many of these threads posted here without an identifier of what website they were from, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell whether they were Dummies thread or Freeper threads. Threads here are filled with lib-like pack mentality attacks on our candidates. Someone posts a nasty comment about Jeb, or Fiorina, or Rubio or whoever and suddenly there is an explosion of hateful, often personal, attacks attempting to lay a case for why they are unfit to be POTUS. You never see this on the other side. It's as though on one hand we discount the bias media, but on the other we run with their criticisms, legitimize them, and act as though it's fine as long as WE are the one's spewing it.

I wonder how Reagan would be criticized now by our own if today were his time, and not 1980. The 20/20 hindsight knee jerk is to say we would love him. I call BS on that. Many of the same people bashing the good candidates we currently have in the bullpen today would be bashing candidate Reagan just as hard for the same superficial crap or irrelevant and inconsistant past flaws, no doubt feeding out of the trough of the MSM.

Ultimately this country cannot stand another obama-esque liberal administration. That is the most basic, fundamental goal we all need to embrace and fight against. There is a well coordinated army on the other side bashing and palinizing our candidates with surgical precision and methodology. They don't need us, but they certainly love us for helping them.

Don't misunderstand, there's nothing wrong with criticizing, I freely admit I hope Jeb fades away on one hand, while Trump the character worries the hell out of me on the other. That being said, I refuse to use the tactics of the other side to destroy the ones I don't agree with on OUR side...(and yes, they are still on our side whether you like it or not). Party loyalty is not an option, it's a necessity for us to win...that is reality. The Dems have mastered that, while we continue to fail at it. Loyalty not only by the candidate but more importantly by the voters...(us).

Whoever makes it out of the Dem nomination will no doubt be a propped-up, heavily flawed, injured, and most importantly an EASILY beatable candidate. Let's not beat ourselves...because that's the only way a dem wins again.

You are 100% correct.

Nothing against your proposition in general, but have you noticed where the Republican party is going with the likes of Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Grahamnesty, Ryan, et al.? And you wonder why FReepers attack “our own”? They aren’t “our own”, they’re the enemy within. They must be challenged.

You could say the same about Rudy, and winning would have been “transforming” in a very productive manner. My concern is that Trump will pull a Perot; however, that leaves Cruz in a great spot to win—again, a transformative control that America desperately needs.

You are, of course, correct. Happens every four years.

The RNC/GOP is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Cheap Labor Express.

Unless the people can nominate Cruz or Trump and break the stranglehold of The Cheap Labor Express I don’t care what happens to the GOP. Only a few are on the side of the citizens.

The only salvation for the GOP is if many districts Cantorize their weasel like we did.

In KY in 2014 Alison Grimes was the lesser evil.
She wouldn’t be Majority leader passing all of Obama’s agenda.

The difference is there’s a lot less cursing here than over at the DUmmies.

Primary season is notoriously ugly on FR. People aren’t content with promoting their preferred candidate—they need to demolish the others and fellow FReepers who might support them.

Unfortunately, we seem to be in perpetual primaries.

Just wait till the elections come around and it’ll really heat up, with people vowing to not vote for the nominee and being called names and accused of crimes against humanity for it.

100% agree with what you said, I would not change one word and feel the exact same way!

I have never been a Trump fan before this cycle, I thought he was not conservative enough, and had a record of supporting Democrats that I could not live with.

Washington is broken, it is not a Democrat/Republican thing... We are not going to fix it by continually electing the same politicians who play us for fools... I believe Trump is the only candidate that will try to fix what is broken and that is the way Washington works

You must not have stopped by the DUmp lately... They are in full meltdown mode, with infighting over Clinton/Sanders

I don’t need help. You’re the one who needs it. If you want to continue to obediently follow the GOP when they make promise after promise and don’t deliver then that’s your business. Myself, and millions of conservatives are not going to do the centrist, establishment’s bidding anymore.

Thank you. I don’t think I said anything that all of us haven’t been thinking. I voted for Dole in 96, voted for Bush twice in ‘00 and ‘04, McCain in ‘08 and Romney the last election. I’m so sick of these moderate types who say we conservatives have not been loyal to the Republican Party. We have and they do nothing but stab us in the back, and like yourself and many other conservatives, I’ve had enough of them and their ineptitude and inaction against the left.

Everyone of the candidates should have circled the wagons around Trump when the MSM started bashing him for a non answer.

They can't...They work for different people with different goals...The powers that be can live with any one of those 15 or 16 candidates...Doesn't make much difference to them which one wins...They will still get where they planned...

Trump is the polar opposite of those globalists...Their Cartel would blow apart if Trump wins the nomination...

My hunch is GOP-e will not support Trump no matter what.

The Republican Party REFUSED to support Alan Keyes financially or politically, who was the (black) Republican running against Obama for the Illinois Senate Seat...The Seat that launched Obama to where he is now...No money, no tv commercials, nothing...

The Republicans wanted the Republican to lose...Let that roll around in your head for a while...

The electorate in 2008 did not do the centrist establishments bidding then either

At least not once the primaries were over.I tend to believe that McCaine and Mitt Romney won in fair primary elections (that were not rigged) and maybe Im naive. But if you think the whole thing is corrupt then I guess you get mad and stay home through all of it.

But just realize if you do that you can look forward to more Obamas

Conservatives should vet the candidates.

What do you want, some Rove like character picking the candidate and all just accept that person?

I’ve never been a Trump fan either.

In fact, if you had called me a Trump opponent a few months ago, you would have been correct.

But what I see in him now is that he isn’t one of them.

Trump may have been a liberal, might still be a liberal, or might have become conservative. It’s hard for me to know for a fact.

But I see that he loves America, and he’s unapologetic about that. He knows what “Old America’ looks like, and he wants to try and return to that, and so do I.

I am personally willing to give the man a chance to show me what he can do.

I am no longer willing to give the GOP any more chances.

To the GOP-

You failed. You lied to me. You’re fired.
