Trump Praises His Sister, a Pro-Abortion Extremist Judge

Trump Praises His Sister, a Pro-Abortion Extremist Judge by Ramesh Ponnuru August 27, 2015

Donald Trump told Mark Halperin yesterday that his sister, a federal judge, would be a “phenomenal” Supreme Court justice. He also said that “we will have to rule that out now, at least.” If he ever becomes president, let’s hope he rules it out permanently. Maryanne Trump Barry came up in my book The Party of Death for writing one of those heated judicial decisions in favor of giving constitutional protection to partial-birth abortion.

She called a New Jersey law against it a “desperate attempt” to undermine Roe v. Wade. It was, she wrote, “based on semantic machinations, irrational line-drawing, and an obvious attempt to inflame public opinion instead of logic or medical evidence.” It made no difference where the fetus was when it “expired.”

So: The right of abortionists to make a child “expire” by partially extracting her from the womb, sticking scissors in the back of her head, vacuuming out her brain, and crushing her skull to complete her extraction, is right there in the Constitution. But let’s please not have any “semantic machinations.

Trump is NOT a Conservative. The so called “hatchet jobs” are merely Conservatives presenting evidence of this obvious truth.

Cruz is working on him...

Reagan had a gay son; Chaney had a gay daughter; Rick S has gay friends and attends their wedding. Donald has a pro abortion sister who happens to be a judge. He should not be condemned for his sister’s sin. If this be a hit piece, certainly hope that he addresses it as such at one point during the campaign. This is not to say I condone it, but I do await his words as to how he would explain those remarks today. Steadfast stand with Trump/Cruz. I shall not bend I shall not sway. It must be a mightier storm than this to knock me down.
Thanks HM this certainly brought be down from the ‘high’ I’ve felt these past weeks. But that was what it was meant to do. Wasn’t it? Mission incomplete.

I know. I’m just more comfortable with Cruz or Huckabee. I know what I am getting. Don’t get me wrong. I actually love Trump on so many levels. I just think he is a big question mark in too many ways to pick him over the other two.

Huckabee is pro amnesty which falls in line with the New World order...That's not an issue with you???

His wife works for Jeb's campaign.

And he never researched the court opinion before he wrote the article.

Huckabee is not pro-amnesty. Go to his website and read what he says about immigration. His path to citizenship is only about the people who were brought here as children. What home have they to go back to? They did not choose to break our laws. Differ with that if you will, but he is not pro amnesty. He says he would deport them within 120 days.

Huck is on record (unfortunately along with Santorum) of buying into the false notion that raising the minimum wage somehow raises standard of living when it does not. That’s a strike against him.

Another strike is that he supports giving in-state tuition to children of illegal immigrants and allows them to compete for scholarships with regular citizen children that they would not normally be eligible for. That’s another strike.

Trump has no conservative street creds. At all except perhaps for fiscal conservative at best.

The in state tuition issue is old old news. It is something he did as governor. I do not agree with it, but it is not relevant to the presidential campaign. I won’t shoot myself in the foot because of that when I agree with him on so many current issues. I am good with his current positions for the role of president. As to minimum wage, again it was something he did as governor. He is not saying he would raise it now. When asked, he returned with a bunch of questions about what it would do...etc.

Huckabee is very strong on issues I care about the most. So is Cruz. I do not agree with anyone 100%.

Hmmm, I think I like her:

Barry's reputation on the bench was that of a tough judge with strong command of her courtroom.[1] In 1989, while a district court judge in Essex County, N.J., she disapproved a plea bargaining deal that would have freed two county detectives accused of protecting a drug dealer, and forced the case to trial, where the detectives were convicted and received jail terms. She also presided over the conviction of Louis Manna, the Genovese crime family boss accused of plotting to assassinate rival John Gotti.[1] In January 2006, Barry testified in support of the appointment of fellow Third Circuit Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court.

Caught it. Thanks. Mud thrown against a wall may not stick but it does help to muddy things up. Off to bed B4 the possibility arrives of yet another attempt by these losers. Cantor/Jeb? LOL that is laughable. :) OK, admit a few leaves may be missing but I’m still standing (big smile here)

Reagan - 8 years
Bush I - 4 years
Bush II - 8 years

Roe V Wade was in effect during all those years and not one thing changed. A president will never stop abortion. The courts ruled it legal. Only the courts can rule it illegal.

However, I will never vote for a president who is pro abortion. If he or she believes killing babies is okay then he’s not one I would vote for.

Great list but it's missing the most important item of all, an item that shows how sincere, unswerving and patriotic he is, and that item is his love and respect for our Veterans.

Long before he ran or talked about running for President, he formed a veteran's memorial commission in NYC in the 1980's and he funded it when no other politician would help. Donald Trump built the New York City Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza:

http://www.vietnamveteransplaza.com

A quarter million men and women from New York served during Vietnam and no one of means thought to remember their sacrifice save for Donald Trump. He built the Memorial Plaza with his heart when no other leaders cared to get involved. He did it unselfishly, he didn't have to do it, no one told him to do it. Without his love for our Veterans, this memorial would not exist.

The Memorial Wall above has hundreds of inscriptions of excerpts of letters from Veterans that were sent home. You can read the inscriptions at the above link. The Memorial Wall is a spiritually moving experience.

No matter what is said about the values of conservatism, the root of conservatism lies in the love for our Veterans and our Brave Warriors. Without this love, conservatism is a ghost of nothingness.

Donald Trump at the center of his core being, has the root of conservatism firmly planted. No one can say he does not love America. He is passionate about her.

Donald Trump follows with a passion the careers of many of our military heroes. He keeps an eye on them and as President he will surely see them promoted to positions of great responsibility. One such hero is Rob O'Neill, the Navy Seal who shot Bin Laden.

Rob O'Neill praised Donald Trump when he was interviewed last month on Fox News. He praised how Donald Trump as President would be able to lead Americans to victory if there is a war. When Donald heard this, he was astonished and flattered because Rob O'Neill is a hero to him.

And so many Veterans have been helped by Donald Trump. One US Marine who was forgotten and left to rot in a Mexican jail without so much as a phone call to Mexico by President Obama was Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi. Donald Trump quietly worked behind the scenes, one year before he filed to run for President, to free Sgt. Tahmooressi:

http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/donald-trump-quietly-helped-marine-whom-obama-ignored

And after Donald Trump had helped to free Sgt. Tahmooressi, he wrote a check for $25,000 to him to help him get his life back in order.

All of the above was done quietly, unselfishly, with kindness and great respect.

Now there are other items you missed Helicondelta, items that again confirm that Donald Trump loves America and will be a President that is the polar opposite of the one we have now. But let's conclude in agreement that without doubt Donald Trump has the best interests of all American patriots in mind. Together with Ted Cruz, there can be up to 16 years of turning this country around to restore its pride and its exceptionalism. Everyone that loves America will have an opportunity to see it happen and to benefit from what it brings. And further, all the people around the world that have admired and marveled at America but now see it as sick, they too will be so happy to see America rise again and recover its dignity.
