Combat with Vic Morrow. Hands down best!
Hogans Heroes.
Agreed. Combat with Vic Morrow. Especially the episode with the botanist who pointed out snipers in trees by differing leaf patterns.
Combat was my favorite.
“Combat with Vic Morrow. Hands down best!”
Make that two. Followed by 12 O”clock High.
McHale’s Navy too!
I do not know about my favorite and I will probably get ripped for this, but I liked certain things about Major Dad. Yeah, there were a couple of flaky elements, but I think they had some respect for the Marines they were portraying even though it was a comedy. Anyone know where to get the collection?
LOL! China Beach. Dana Delaney. Good sound tracks. At least it gave some credit for the medical folks who helped keep a lot of our folks alive in perilous conditions. Not so much with mash for me. At the time it was comical but looking back, not so much. So, again, thanks to all the VN vets and to the medical folks who were there too. Yeah, a lot of it was far fetched. So, yeah, Combat was excellent.
My father would laugh to hear us little ones "playing army" and calling out to Chargent Chaunders.
I would have to rate Victory at Sea number one, because it inspired me to choose Naval Officer Candidate School when my turn came during the Vietnam War. Whenever I took the deck and the conn at sea the theme song was playing in my head.
True, and only surpassed forty years later by “Band of Brothers”. But I must agree that for regular commercial network TV it was still the very best.
That series was "The Gallant Men".
