What frustrates me most about all of this is that these urban youths look at prison as a rite of passage. To them, it’s a place to make street contacts. There’s no punishment in prison anymore. It’s like washing your kid’s mouth out with soap: once they learn they can blow bubbles, it loses its impact.
That's exactly what I think! Commit a crime, get caught, go to prison for what, 5-6 years, maybe?
Meet good criminal contacts, work out, get strong, 3 meals a day. Maybe convert to islam.
It's a win-win for these sub-human vermin.
