Being Christian Messianic, my idea of kosher is considerably less stringent than yours... But pork (very sadly, still a great temptation) and shellfish are off the menu.... But Torah doesn't say anything about deep-fried Snickers and sweet tea... And I will say that I doubt that sweet tea is any where near as bad for folks as soda pop is.
Plus tea leaves contain anti-oxidants which “they” say may actually be good for you.
I’m not big on pork but like my fried flounder filet so I guess I could function under a loose version of kosher.
Over in the book of Mark, Jesus declared all foods clean. I’ve come to trust him over the years. So it seem you can consume whatever as long as it isn’t in a gluttonous manner and it doesn’t cause someone else to stumble. It’s probably a good idea to avoid the ‘all you can eat’ buffet whether its in the north or south.
