Trump campaign loses top adviser

A major political strategist has left Donald Trump’s 2016 GOP presidential candidate, a new report says — but it’s unclear who severed the relationship.

Roger Stone is no longer aiding the outspoken billionaire’s quest for the White House, according to CNN.

Reports conflicted on Saturday over whether Stone’s departure was a firing or a resigning, the news outlet added.

“Mr. Trump fired Roger Stone last night,” a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign told CNN on Saturday.

“We have a tremendously successful campaign and Roger wanted to use the campaign for his own personal publicity. He has had a number of articles about him recently and Mr. Trump wants to keep the focus of the campaign on how to make America great again.”

Stone contradicted that version of events, CNN said, by providing the media organization with his resignation letter Saturday.

“Unfortunately, the current controversies involving personalities and provocative media fights have reached such a high volume that it has distracted attention from your platform and overwhelmed your core message,” the document says. “With this current direction of the candidacy, I no longer can remain involved in your campaign.”

“I care about you as a friend and wish you well,” Stone also reportedly tells Trump in the letter. “Be assured I will continue to be vocal and active in the national debate to ensure our nation does not again turn to the failed and distrusted Bush/Clinton families.”

Stone elaborated further on his exodus from the Trump political machine in a post on his Twitter Saturday afternoon.

“Sorry @realDonaldTrump didn’t fire me – I fired Trump,” he tweeted. “Disagree with diversion to food fight with @megynkelly away core issue messages.”

Trump inspired national shock by criticizing Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly on Friday evening, after a verbal exchange the night before.

Kelly, a moderator in the GOP’s first televised presidential debate Thursday, interrogated Trump over his past remarks towards women.

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her – wherever,” Trump told CNN host Don Lemon on Friday night.

Critics have since pounced on Trump’s statement as crude and demeaning.

It also got the reality TV star disinvited from the RedState Gathering, an annual conservative forum taking place this weekend in Atlanta.

The New York business mogul’s presidential campaign responded by defending its figurehead in a statement published Saturday morning.

“Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad – she was a mess with her anger and caught totally off guard,” Trump’s political team said in a statement.

“Mr. Trump said, ‘blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever,’ meaning her nose, and wanted to move on to more important topics,” it said. “Only a deviant would think anything else.”

The GOP’s crowded 2016 field has since dogpiled on Trump, sensing vulnerability in the frontrunner for their party’s nomination.

Multiple Republican White House hopefuls have denounced the real estate kingpin’s rhetoric as an embarrassing gaffe.

Trump is not wheels off. Again you cannot attain a business stature like Trump has by being a flake. He successfully negotiates with the leaders of foreign countries every day of the week. Obviously he does not insult them or he wouldn’t be building skyscrapers for them.

Getting into kerfuffles with pseudo journalists like Megyn Kelly gets Trump publicity which leads to free TV time all the time. He is going to be on 3 shows tomorrow thanks to the controversy and he will get his message out. He’s crazy like a fox. The guy has spent less than two million on his campaign so far. He never has to buy TV time.

“I am talking about the majority of people who rely on the MSM for their news.”

That’s nonsense and pure propaganda spooned out by the lying fascist media. Media trustworthiness according to every poll in the last five years is under 10%. Nobody, except for 50 IQ apes, believes the media.

The stupid media didn’t elect Buckwheat to the White House. Voter fraud elected Buckwheat and gutless Republicans who refused to challenge the numbers elected Buckwheat.

It’s obvious as the nose on your face. This entire administration is fraudulent and the only thing keeping Buckwheat in power is the traitorous Republican party. Buckwheat should have been removed from office the day he stepped in office.

Teacher: “Buckwheat, use the word ‘isthmus’ in a sentence.”

Buckwheat: “Isthmus be my lucky day.”

Not so sure about your assessment. Donald Trump is NOT the only candidate who can win against Hillary or any other Democrat. And I beg to differ with you on this also: Trump is the only reason Ted Cruz is being heard??? I beg to differ with you. Ted Cruz defeated a long-time, entrenched, RINO, billionaire, sitting GOP Lt. Governor In Texas; with no help from Donald Trump, I guarantee you. And, I like Trump, but he is hell-bent on self-destructing. I don’t think he really wants to be President. But for you to diss all the other candidates and decree Lord Trump the savior of the Conservative movement is an insult. Actually, Donald Trump would not make a decent scab on Ted Cruz’s ass.

The media absolutely pushed their agenda and elected Obama.

And sadly...they still cover up his lies.

I don’t know how much he has spent on his campaign. But I will agree that he never has to buy tv time. That is pretty smart. We will agree about that.

Now, we must disagree. I never said Trump was a flake. Your own words...”Obviously he does not insult them.” Of course not...it’s business.

He can walk away from a business deal. But not walk away from the world...if he were president.

I really wish I had more faith in Trump. I just don’t.

There’s clever push back and then there’s the gutter.

Which do you think is better?

More interviews like this?

I’ve watched it all, have you?

If not, please take the time and let me know if you don’t cringe through most of it (if you can even take 30 minutes of Donald Trump self love).

Sigh - amazing what “those on our side” will stoop to to slam Trump - they fall in alongside the Left’s dirty half-truth/98% lies and speculation tactics that they supposedly despise when the Left does it to someone they like and then wonder where their own moral high ground went.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Stone rejoin the trump campaign a fe w months from now. They are both volatile personalities and got a in a screaming match the other night. Big deal. I think they will make up eventually.

My favorite is Cruz I will vote for him... But without Trump hammering the RINO control freaks Cruz would die a political death being suffocated by the blaring of JEB JEB JEB JEB JEB with hundreds of millions of dollars...

I did’t say Trump is the only candidate who could beat Hillary - said nothing about it — But without Trump sucking all the air from Jeb Bush - we would get Jeb Bush and Jeb cannot beat Hillary and Jeb Bush’s platform is the same as Hillary’s.

Trump recently met with Cruz - and Trump recently gave money to the Cruz campaign ... sounds like Trump is lining up a VP to me ...

You make very good points. I know that Trump and Cruz met, but I had no idea that Trump gave campaign money to Cruz. Wow. I could live with a Trump/Cruz Ticket. But, if Cruz does not have the top spot, I’d want it understood that he would resign as VP when the first Supreme Court vacancy came up. He needs to be on the SCOTUS.
