Trump won't be Veep. If he flames out, he's gone from the race.

If he doesn't flame out, he's gonna win the nomination.

As has been said, the only candidate who can stop Trump...is Trump.

Trump doesn't play second fiddle to anyone and you couldn't trust him to follow the administration's message when he disagrees with it.
