Thats why I like modern lightweight snub nose revolvers for CCW, especially females.Absolutely
I'll bet she 'limp wristed' the auto and got a fail to eject or fail to feed.
Easy to do esp. if shooting one handed, even for a man.
J frame or similar all the way. Simple, foolproof(almost), reliable.

About the worst thing that can happen to a revolver (other than dunking it in water) is getting a coin jammed somewhere. An empty purse pocket can mitigate that. Semi’s just have too much that can go wrong. Semi’s require regular inspections, at least a mag switch every 2-3 months.

That's highly probable.
The semi autos I shoot are primarily CZs, Glocks, and Rugers, all duty size or compact. At one of my last range visits I shot a Glock 26 Gen 3 subcompact that was NIB/unfired, which I cleaned before firing it for the first time.
On the second magazine, I had one stovepipe. (the only one that day.) I was perplexed as this never occurred with my other Glocks in the thousands of rounds I put downrange with them. I quickly realized it was me and corrected my grip, and had no more issues.
Follow up range visit fired another 200-300 rounds, no issues. After nearly 30 years of pistol experience, I realized there are still things to learn.
When I also learned how well I could shoot with the G26, I didn't even bother putting rounds through the other pistols I brought with me that day.
