“Kraal” is an Afrikaans term for a tribal village, used by that tribe and none others..
The urban kraals are much the same...

“Kraal” is Afrikaans for a black African village surrounded by a wall or fence. Same roots as the word “corral”.
Current usage seems to be the same as the 1960’s term “ghetto”.
