Like a Boy Scout of days gone by;
Be Prepared!
Weekly trips to the range.
Don’t eat out. Spend what you save on an extra trip to the store for food, water and ammo.
Update you first aid kits.
Extra food for your dogs (the worlds best alarms).
Figure out which neighbors you can rely on and which to avoid.
Keep you gas tanks full.
Gold, silver and cash.
Hopefully, this is obvious to all reading it.
closer to 0 end of term
Great thread Sarge.
Thank you for posting this!
I live in a small community in the country,
Sometimes it can be hard as far as weather
heating with wood, and so on.
However, this type of life also demands that you be
prepared for all situations.
I guess what I am trying to say, is that I am glad
that I do not live in a big city.
We have great neighbors, and we all look out for one another here.
Truer words were never spoken. The manufacture and co-opting of these zombies by the leftists for political purposes is one of the most cynical and brazen acts of treason and inhumanity I've ever seen.
Thx Ol' Sarge!

... 1968 - across America - the death of Martin Luther King touches off rioting in several cities after the media broadcast (Elapsed time: less than 3 hours)....
A bit more information on these riots which occurred in 110 cities...all should pause and think about that number, especially the younger folks here.
MLK Jr was assassinated April 4, 1968, a Thursday, in the late afternoon. In Washington DC instigated by Stokely Carmichael rioting started in the Howard University area at 9:30 PM. The exact time established by police radio calls. That's the three hours cited above. The neighborhood was almost exclusively black. Thursday night the rioting and looting and burning of local stores remained confined to that neighborhood. The evening news on the only three networks reported this local riot and the growing number of riots in American cities.
Almost all residents of the city believed that the riots would be contained despite the number of previous riots across the country. I lived in the northern part of DC on the border with Prince George County MD. On Friday morning I drove to work as usual, driving west and then down to Key Bridge into Rosslyn, VA. The offices overlooked the Iwo Jima Memorial on one side and with panoramic views of DC on the other sides. There was no news of continued rioting during the drive.
Don't recall the exact hour, but an hour or two past lunch we noticed a thick column of black smoke rising in the center of DC soon followed by three or four more. Radio started reporting on the spread of rioting and fires. The president federalized the local National Guard units and mobilized Third Infantry. Then we learned that The Washington Beltway was the cordon sanitaire, blocking traffic into and out of the city. I was stuck in Virginia for an unknown and undefined period of time. I was fortunate to have friends in Alexandria who took me in.
So, from first event to almost total shutdown and blockade of the city was 18 plus or minus hours.
Phone lines were busy, trying to locate family and friends was a bit frustrating for awhile.
OK, that was then and this is now, so what's different?
Let's start with local municipal governments. Almost all are controlled by minority and far legtlleft mayors. Baltimore recent reaction is emblematic of what can be anticipated. The let them riot response sadly will be the template. Do not expect the same cordon sanitaires to be implemented until too late. Couple that with the now larger suburban populations once confined by economics and the realization comes that the riots cannot be contained as in the past.
Communication. Increased mobility, cellular and social media make flash mobs inevitable, reducing defensive reaction time significantly. At the same time coordination by rioters disseminates intelligence as to LEO responses and locations. Keep in mind that the increased firearms sales weren't confined to conservatives.
Obviously there are more points to consider and I hope to see more posted here.
my two cents....
Bump!
Good thing I don’t live in a city.
To the professional simpleton who put that in the keywords; Don't flatter yourself.
Sarge, THANK YOU! I’ve been telling the sheep for decades that the most dangerous words in ANY language are “WHY, THAT COULD NEVER HAPPEN HERE!”
Like HELL IT CAN’T.
Gonna splash this all over the net. Not that the sheep will read or understand it...
Oh, BTW, did you know you were a white racist?
The keyword said so.
Then we have a political class who has purposely used the productive class as the scape goats convincing the underclass we are the reason for their plight.
Currently we work until June to pay the government to transfer our money (time on this planet) as sort of extortion to prevent the cities from burning.
As soon as the money spigot gets turned off, the cities burn. If you were reading Twitter the day they tested the EBT card system shut down you'd know it won't take long. Less than 24 hours.
Several of us are fans of the Fallout video games and often compare them to whats in store because of the survival aspect. The creators obviously had access to, end used, people with knowledge of crowds, psychology and the various dynamics involved in a sHTF scenario...and it shows.
The mindset of the average American cannot even begin to grasp a shtf scenario where the grid fails and the ferals come out to rape/pillage/do the voodoo that they do. It’s part of their Television mindset that ‘someone’ will ‘fix it’...but they better hurry because little Johnny has a soccer game next week!
When the grid goes down, I am convinced that millions of people will be furiously trying to contact Apple to demand their lack of internet on their iphone be addressed immediately because they need to order dinner.
There will be no police because the police will be at home taking care of their families. This government, a government on record with population control and having advisors that are on record as olanning for elimination of opposing views in the permanent sense, will not be sending military to ‘help’. The military members not abandoning their posts to go home and protect their loved ones will not be on a Hati style relief mission with stuffed animals and happy thoughts.
The best thing people can do IMO is know who they can trust. I don’t mean trust with grabbing the right flavor of Jello at the store, I mean trust to not sell you and your stuff out to the ferals. Genuine trust that your life likely WILL depend on.
Then get a few of you together to sketch out a VERY basic/rough idea of protecting your junk because A: no plan survives contact with the enemy and B: you will, depending on location, have little to almost no time once the lights go out, to do anything but break out the weaponry and prepare for the ‘Fallout’ to begin.
