Elizabeth and Margaret served in the British Army during the war

Their father and mother were asked to go to Canada and refused. They were asked to go to the countryside and refused. Both George VI and his wife stayed in London and toured the bombed neighborhoods especially the west end to buck up the people. They are still beloved of the people. Edward VIII was a self indulgent pain in the ass who was effectively exiled to Bermuda for the duration
