That's not at all what Klavan is saying....now whether you agree or not, Klavan is saying the assumption that Trump is really on our side based on what he's been saying for 25 minutes is unwise. Klavan has been on our side much much longer than Trump.
"Sort of kind of nasty" translates into the truth. Why aren't other GOP candidates able to say the same thing? Why is Trump's message resonating among the voters? Sanctuary cities have been around for almost two decades. Where has the outrage and passion been from the GOP about criminal alien crime that has killed tens of thousands of Americans and affected millions of Americans who have been the victims of these crimes. From a 2011 GAO Report that was requested by Steve King
The reports findings include:
The number of criminal aliens in U.S. federal prisons in 2010 was estimated to be 55,000, a 7% increase since 2005. (The general U.S. federal prison population rose 14% over the same time.)
The total number of criminal aliens estimated to be in state and local prisons in 2009 was 296,000.
Between 2005 and 2009, the total annual cost of housing this population at all levels was between $1.5 and $1.6 billion.
The average criminal alien has been arrested seven times. Approximately 50% have been arrested for a drug-related offense, 65% for an immigration-related offense, 35% for assault, 19% for weapons violations and 8% for homicide.
Mexico is the country of origin for 68% of criminal aliens. Columbia and the Dominican Republic are the next most likely countries of origin, representing 5% each of the alien incarcerated population.
States with more than 10,000 criminal alien incarcerations are California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Illinois and New York. 74% of total incarcerations took place in California, Arizona and Texas.
The Left and RINOs have tried to hide the massive impact criminal alien crime has had on the American people. They also try to hide the other costs that are well over $100 billion annually. Stories like the Steinle incident are legion from all over the country. This is the norm and yet nary a word from the political elites who prefer sob stories about those "living in the shadows" or family dislocations or Dreamers. The rights of the illegals are more important than the safety and security of US citizens. It is a travesty. And we have the head of DHS defending the ignoring of federal laws by sanctuary cities. The Rule of Law? Forget about it.
