ou mean the McSheeples are more interested in Who’s winning American Idolatry and Dancing with the Perverts in between commercials for Viagra, Sleeping Pills, Beer, and Depends than they are in what “TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS, governments are instituted among men” means?

Precisely.

Yet the rights are so much vanity without a Lord to live them before.

Early America was blessed with great faith, in part because it was an arduous adventure to get here. People needed a greater reason than mere curiosity. That served as a filter against the lukewarm and the unbeliever.

In the context of faith, rights made sense as underscoring those things that were right in the first place.

Now they have morphed into indulgence.

Rediscovering freedom here means rediscovering God. No shortcut to it.
