Unfortunately, Trump had made worse remarks about African Americans and African immigrants but received little or no objections besides off-the-camera lunch dates with self-seeking activists. For instance, in June, 2013, it was Trump who twitted that the “overwhelming amount of violent crime in our major cities is committed by blacks and Hispanics,” Come on now Anthony, let's all be brave and have an honest discussion about race in America. Let's not be a nation of cowards.

What he said was that 98% of murders in NYC are committed by blacks and Hispanics. Only 1% are committed by whites. He also said it needs to be discussed publicly. (Per Wikipedia.)
