Police have become militarized, they no longer "protect and serve" like I envision they did when my dad was a cop, and they seem to be a law unto themselves (get away with beatings, murder, ignoring our Constitutional rights, etc.). Readily available video recordings have thrown much needed sunshine on their oppressive tactics. Sure they complain, seize phones, arrest bystanders, but the truth is coming out. Bad cops, which I still like to think are the minority, are being found out. Getting them prosecuted is a different manner. Reports suggest the mostly get away with their actions, lie to cover each other, have protecting prosecutors, and judges that believe police over citizens.
And risk? By most accounts police endure less risk and injury than other professions, definitely less than citizens that come under their scrutiny.
As a conservative citizen, I demand honest, respectful police that respect the Constitution. I also demand justice be served when they step over the line.
Okay, that's my blah, blah, blah. Time for some caffiene.
Why did you bother to read it if it is long winded and blah blah blah? He is right on target with what he said and I guess the truth hurts.
