“SOF Prefers 9mm over .45 Caliber
The Armys Delta Force adopted .40 caliber, but the elite unit is having the same problems as the FBI the heavier caliber is causing excessive wear problems in guns that were originally designed to be 9mm. Delta is now using 9mm Glock 17s, 19s and 34s.
The 75th Ranger Regiment and Special Forces units use M9A1s and Glock 19s.
SEAL Teams mostly use the Sig Sauer 226.
DEVGRU, or SEAL Team 6, does use Heckler & Koch .45 for special occasions when they need a suppressed capability.”
“Army Considering .40 caliber as FBI Returns to 9mm”
I carry all of them. I rotate between my SIG Arms P-229 in 40/357, my P220 in 45, and my P-226 in 9mm. I shoot all well due to weekly recoil therapy. However, I switch out my carry piece every couple of weeks. You see, the two that I don’t carry develop considerable emotional stress when left in my gun safe over time. When one has a romantic attachment to each it is important to take care of them all and keep them happy.
