England comes from behind to beat Norway 2-1
England survived a scare

Bronze revels in England victory
"ecstatic"

Mark Sampson: 'England Women have made history'
"They knew this was a big game and they wanted to write their names into our football history," he told BBC Sport.

"They have made history and deserve all the credit in the world. They stepped up and delivered for the country."

England face hosts Canada in the last eight on Sunday.

'Growing England can go all the way'
They said:

I've paid my dues. Time after time. I've done my sentence. But committed no crime.

And bad mistakes ‒ I've made a few. I've had my share of sand kicked in my face. But I've come through. (And I need just go on and on, and on, and on)

We are the champions, my friends, And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end. We are the champions. We are the champions. No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the world.

I've taken my bows. And my curtain calls. You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it. I thank you all.

But it's been no bed of roses, No pleasure cruise. I consider it a challenge before the whole human race. And I ain't gonna lose. (And I need just go on and on, and on, and on)

We are the champions, my friends, And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end. We are the champions. We are the champions. No time for losers. 'Cause we are the champions of the world.

We are the champions, my friends, And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end. We are the champions. We are the champions. No time for losers. 'Cause we are the champions.

Australia over Brazil certainly was an upset, England winning was very close to an upset, their 2nd goal and it’s build up in dribbling was magnificent, perhaps they can show their men’s team something. Let’s not forget Norway won the 2nd women’s World Cup and drew Germany. Canada vs. Switzerland, a great win by Canada.

Since upsets have happened, England (vs. Canada) and France (vs. Germany) stand a good chance to win. If Australia meets Japan or to a lesser probability, Netherlands, the Soccerettes should have a very good chance.

I think this young Welsh manager for England Sampson is a real asset to the team.

Japan defeating Netherlands does not seem like a foregone conclusion to me and comes on late being out in Vancouver.
