What I find most interesting is that the Good Doctor exercised extreme personal dicipline in that he chose not to use deadly force to defend himself and his wife until the deadly threat appeared imminent, even though he could have legally done so in most states at the time of the carjacking. I’m not sure that I would have waited that long given the opputunity.
Nobody is bringing up the obvious upside of this for the doctor. He’s now probably has a lifetime carte blanche from the wife to buy any gun he wants.
