As for my theory, I will go with area kids on an overpass threw a rock at the train. The rock’s impact likely caused the engineer to increase the train’s speed.

Hit by a rock? Are they serious? Was the “rock” the size of a greyhound bus? They are implying the rock was thrown at the train and that this somehow could have caused this derailment. Ha ha!
