1. George Zimmerman (GZ) racially profiled Trayvon Martin (TM) There is no evidence of this.
2. GZ disobeyed an order by the police * The civilian dispatcher, Sean Noffke, testified that he did not give GZ an order and, in fact, he, like his fellow dispatchers, are trained not make comments that sound like commands. * Noffke also testified under cross that, as a result of his asking GZ which way TM was going, GZ could have reasonably interpreted this as being asked to follow Martin. * It is also not a crime in Florida to disregard a comment made by a civilian dispatcher.
3. GZ got out of his car Not a crime on public property and not negligent either.
4. GZ followed TM Again, anyone can follow anyone on a public street unless the followee has obtained a restraining order against the follower and even there, the order only places time, place, and manner restrictions on the person enjoined.
5. GZ wasnt really injured * Under Floridas self-defense laws, one doesnt have to be injured AT ALL to use deadly force * No one is required to refrain from defending himself while another is engaged in or attempting to commit a felony.
6. TM is dead through no fault of his own * If you believe that TM assaulted GZ, then he IS dead as a result of his own actions.
7. GZ could have left * Under Florida law, there is not a duty to withdraw rather than use deadly force * TM was straddling GZ so how the latter was supposed to leave the scene is unanswered.
8. GZ was armed and TM wasnt * Ones fists can be considered weapons and can result in severe bodily harm or death. * GZ was legally carrying a weapon * There is no requirement under the law that the same weapon be used by the assailant * A homeowner can kill an intruder whether or not he has been threatened * Those that attack cannot feign surprise if they are met with superior firepower.
9. Stand Your Ground! * SYG is NOT at issue in this trial. * The defense is a classic self-defense case.
10. Black men NEVER get to use SYG! * Wrong http://tinyurl.com/nboht35
11. GZ is a man and TM was a boy! * As if boys dont commit murder, rape, and assault everyday in this country.
Collectively 12% of the population commits 50% of the violent crime. That is the problem.
Pray America is waking
Activist, BS. The woman is still trying to make a buck off her dead son.
It is easy to see why her son made such bad choices. Was she there to teach him the basic rights and wrongs of life? Nosiree. Was she there when Trayvon needed some correction and extreme parental guidance? Nosiree. Bad parental skills and poor involvement led an immature Trayvon (he was just a child, remember) into facing a manhood situation for which he was unprepared. AND, when a child confronts an adult, the child is usually the loser. Color doesn’t matter, age and maturity do. PLUS, Somebody forgot to tell Trayvon to respect his elders.
If she would admit to her parental shortcomings instead of blaming someone else, she would be saving the lives of many future Trayvons. That would be a real tribute to Trayvon.
Now you know why that momma pulled her son out of the rioting, she cared enough to give the very best, a kick in the a$$, to the son she loved. Children need a momma and a daddy who care enough to disciple and raise them correctly. Black lives do matter to parents who care.
I followed the Zimmerman trial closely online, live. The facts can be summarized as follows.Zimmerman expected the police to arrive momentarily, Martin could have gone home with no difficulty. All relevant evidence and testimony indicates that Zimmerman fired the shot out of desperation. All except the trial testimony of Trayvon Martins parents, which if believed makes the physical evidence a complete puzzle.
- The famous police call is evidence, in and of itself, that Zimmerman had no intention of breaking the law. After making that call, he had to expect the police could arrive at any moment.
- Trayvon Martin was not cornered by Zimmerman, and from the time he gave Zimmerman the slip he had over four minutes to go a little more than a hundred yards to his house. In all reasonable likelihood he could have made that in less than half a minute.
- Someone cried out for help for about a minute before the fatal shot was fired.
- Zimmermans head was bloodied; apart from the fatal gunshot, Martins body had not a mark on him except for catches on his knuckles. An eyewitness testified that he saw Martin kneeling astraddle of Zimmerman and beating him. Martins knees bore the markings you would expect of someone who had been kneeling on wet grass. The witness testified that Zimmerman asked him for help, and he said he would call 911. Zimmerman replied, No, help! The witness testified that he undertook to call 911 - but heard the fatal shot while he was trying to call. Another witness testified that as a veteran of Vietnam and a corpsman, he knew from experience that he could identify an acquaintances voice when he heard a cry for help - and he testified that he heard the cries for help on the 911 tape without hearing that the tape involved Zimmerman, but instantly believed that it was he.
- The only contradiction in the testimony was when Martins parents testified that the cries for help sounded like Trayvon Martins. This conflicted not only with the physical evidence of Trayvons body, the testimony of the eye witness, and the testimony of the ear witness, but also the testimony of the detectives who investigated the crime and said that Trayvons parents had told them that it was not Trayvons voice on the tape.
No it wasn't. Not that being suspicious of young black men in such attire isn't warranted. That is not GZs fault, it the fault of the "black community".
Collectively, we have a problem that we need to fix.
Yeah, and a big clue about the source of the problem is waiting in your mirror. And "we" is everyone else like you and that crip boyfriend/ husband/whatever of yours.
Prior to this happening to my son I didnt know anything about stand your ground,...
You still don't. Or much else for that matter.
