Well, now that I think of it, there hasn’t been a Republican seen in Detroit in 50 years (at least).

The last republican mayor was Louis Miriani 1958 to 1961.

The last white mayor (no counting current mayor Mike Duggan) was Roman Gibbs (1970 to 1974)

For what its worth, the last republican mayor was a crook too. He was convicted of tax evasion in 69 and did 10 months in prison.
