In my 40+ years of driving, oftentimes with a little bit of a lead foot, I’ve been pulled over by White cops, Black cops, female cops, Latino cops. Especially when I was a young punk with a slightly modified 68 Dodge Charger that I thought would be a chick magnet instead of a cop magnet. My reaction was always the same, yeah I’m PO’ed, BUT I’m respectful and cooperate with them AND always keep my hands in sight. Oftentimes they’ve let me go with a warning
In 60 year of driving I’ve always been polite and cooperative and kept hands on steering wheel; however, I’ve not been as lucky in getting warnings instead of tickets.
My first vehicle was a ‘64 Bel-Air. I paid $175 for it in ‘76 when I was 16. I drove the he!! out of it.
They know you cant have a CCW without a backround check...and I always inform them that I am carrying and where and ask them if they would like to hold my weapon. during the stop.
To date no one has asked for it.
They always ask what I carry though...”.I'm old school...a .357 S&W stainless with a 4” barrel”
The usual responce is “ that’ll work” and I get handed back my licenses with the old “keep under a hundred would ya”
“Yes sir and thank you...have a safe day”
Probably would not have received warnings had you had a bad attitude.
