On top of everything else, at 53 I've got some hearing loss. Enough I had to get a waiver from the Commander USAFR (reserves) to re-enlist after 9/11. Too many years around jets and firearms, even with hearing protection, I managed to lose hearing.

If I had been shooting suppressed firearms, some of that wouldn't have happened, even though I wear plugs and muffs, suppressed would have made a big difference. Who can afford all those hoops though? Not a young airman.

I won't shoot these days unless I shoot with a suppressor and muffs. They darn sure don't silence... ;)

I hear ya (Kinda).
Next week, I have to go re-take my hearing test at work.
I was in the Navy, and my ship ran fire drills where our 5” bow cannons would go off again and again. I stood fire watch right next to them.
(Be funny if they would have installed suppressors on THEM bad boys!)

OSHA should give $200 tax breaks to offset the tax for suppressors, and they should send some of their staff to assist BATFE with approving applications.

Maybe I’ll shoot that idea to Mr. Cruz.
