That's a good question as the Manhattan Project started under FDR, maybe they didn't want to give a NPP posthumously? Truman did authorize dropping the bomb, so I don't know. They did things differently back then, as we are painfully aware today. Maybe they didn't use enough of Nobel's product to suit the Nobel Committee? Maybe those nuclear warheads used to instantly vaporize large amounts of Japanese and the two cities they once occupied rubbed them the wrong way?
The committee fired their president over the usurper’s prize. Looks like they’ll have to fire more in the near future over Lurch.
