BTW Patrice Rushen plays keyboards these days with Lee Ritenour- she’s really quite a talented musician, you have to be to play with him
I just went through a quick dozen youtubes of the black funk bands I listened to and attended during 78-85. They were ALL wicked musicians and great vocals.
The bass lines can’t be described. Slave, Lakeside, Aurra...The 80s were just too much fun.
