Dakota Meyer, Bristol Palins fiance, has defended a photo on his Instagram account that depicts him playing with an infant while a gun sits unattended on a nearby table.
In the image, which was uploaded to Meyers account, according to the Daily Mail, the Medal of Honor recipient holds up a child, whose name is Rowan, while a semiautomatic handgun can be seen laying on a table in the background. First highlighted by the satirical website Wonkette, the image of Meyer is roughly 16-months-old. One Instagram commenter noted the presence of the gun, prompting a response from Meyer.
Just love the fact that there is a pistol laying on the little table behind you, the user wrote.
Thats just how we roll haha, Meyer responded....

Yep. Fewer still from Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Al Gore as a baby?
+1
The kitchen knife on the counter is more dangerous than an unloaded firearm.
When I was Eight Years Old, I had a Bolt Action .22 Rifle and a Single Shot .410 Shotgun in my Bedroom Closet.
They were right next to my Older Brother’s 30.06 Rifle, .22 Remington Semi Auto Rifle and .22 Magnum Revolver.
My Dad told us not to play with them in the House and to keep them Unloaded. We went Shooting every week or two.
Today’s Liberals haven’t a clue. They probably watch the old Movie “The Best Years of Our Lives” and cringe when the guy who lost his Hands is cleaning his Rifle.

Here’s Homer cleaning his rifle—Best Years of Our Lives 1946
It’s still gun shaped
Ummm, where did I say anything about a governmental medical bureaucrat. I was thinking family members might think it wise to try to keep firearms away from someone who had previously tried to take their own life with one. Similarly, I would probably not give pills to someone who had attempted to kill themselves with an intentional overdose.
You are reading too much into my comments. Nowhere did I advocate the government taking away his gun. I agree he has a right to them. It’s just if he he were my friend or family member, I would have a heightened concern since he had previously used one to try and take his own life. Similarly, if I knew someone that had intentionally overdosed on sleeping pills, I would also be concerned if they went to their doctor for a prescription to help them sleep even though they have a right to obtain such a drug.
After all, I think Dakota Meyer knows a little bit about firearms.
I read nothing into your comments.
You are trying to insult a recipient of the Medal of Honor as being dangerous to himself and others.
And you are invoking communist powers to justify your "care."
There is nothing unclear about you.
The difference here is that he has proven to be a danger to himself in the past. If it had not been for the actions of concerned friends in the past, he would be dead.

So what? It’s a BABY! What do they think he’s (she’s) going to do? And the guy’s sitting right there and fully engaged with the kid. If it were a toddler rather than a baby and there were no adult in the room, it might be a different deal, but this is a non-story.
Is that Brittney Spears? Oh no, never mind, different Pop Tart.
I distinctly saw and adult in that picture who was "in charge" and in control. This whole thing has gone over to the ridiculous.
