Type in “kindle free books” or put $0 in the price. They have 177,000+.
Worked like a charm - thanks! I ordered 6 :)
What a cute idea, the little boxes outside of homes. The picture you posted was adorable. I suppose each person just designs their own, so mine may not be so cute. But I look forward to swinging by one the next time I go to town. I also moved a bunch of ‘temporary’ books with me until I get my bookcases set up - books I don’t want to keep after reading once. I’m glad they can go to a good cause.
I remember the world before TV too. We listened to the radio. Preachers mostly all day long for Granny, but afternoons I got to here some stuff for example - The Lone Ranger. LOL
No TV, no Computer, and all the phones were DUMB - not a smart phone to be seen anywhere! Lot’s of people did not even have a phone, and many had party lines.
When we needed to use the phone at Granny’s farm, we drove into town to the telephone office, where you could see the operator taking the plugs out and putting them into the machine to make the calls.
What a difference 50 years makes!LOL
Reading through several of these posts, I am reminded that a couple of nights ago during an insomniac period I was refreshing my memory of data I have stuck in my emergency file. So FYI I am just posting it here, in case someone might benefit from the info.
One of the articles was from the CDC re: Safe Water Systems.
Sodium Hypochlorite may be used and is what they advise. (Most likely for larger group than just a family).
If I understood the article, it is because there is better standardization of product when compared to Calcium Hypochlorite.
They also mention the necessity of filtering first to get rid of Giardia or Cryptosporidium, if that is a problem in your area.
