Obama is going after the "green tip" penetrator ammunition.

It's a different bullet from the ball ammo.

The photo in the story is inaccurate. Photo is the ball ammo.

Rush says the Administration is going after all ammo; this is just the first step.

“It’s a different bullet from the ball ammo.”

No. The Army nomenclature for it is Cartridge, Caliber 5.56 mm, Ball, M855. This is the current ball ammo. M855 does not even meet the BATF’s own definition of armor piercing as it has a lead core. The current 5.56mm Armor Piercing round is M995 and it has a tungsten core.

Got news— there are many other rounds that are capable of
“penetrating”. This is just the start.

The notion that some gang-banger would buy a pistol to take 5.56 is ridiculous and of no threat to the police. What is is a little trayvon with a 9mm ruger or shorty 9 of some sort, who pulls from the pocket and shoots the officer.

Of course, this is NOT about the police or crime. It is about removing rounds from the populace.

Not all SS109 projectiles are marked with a green tip.
