How on earth can you say there are 4 distinct seasons when there is only a 20 degree difference between the summer and winter averages?
I’m not looking for an argument but that mystifies me.

1. Because snow between April 1 and November 15 is very rare.
2. Because daily high temps between October 15 and April 30 are rarely above 70.
3. Because we have many deciduous trees that shed their leaves between October 10 and November 20.
4. Because you can comfortably go coatless in 65 degree weather but not in 45 degree weather.
5. Because you can comfortably wear a swimsuit to the beach in 72 degree weather but not in 62 degree weather.
Not all 4-season climates have harsh extremes between the seasons, but they still have distinct seasons.
