Why is it that some processes take place in physical locations while others take place in nonphysical locations?

I’d have to say that physical processes take place in physical locations and non-physical processes take place nowhere in particular.

All processes take place in some coordinate system of space and time. They may have other dimensions associated with them which cause them to happen in a coordinate system which God has not made us to be able to sense ... yet.

Physicists have told us that the Universe began with an initial bang, when dimensions time and space were created. So, anything that exists and is happening or has happened will have time and space coordinates on some level, for without time events do not occur, and without space a thing does not exist.

The Bible records many scenes where the reality of coordinate systems beyond our sensing in this body are illustrated, not the least of which is Jesus leaving the to,b to some coordinate system then stepping from that system into the Upper Room, onto the Road to Damascus, etc.. Even in the old Testament, in the fifth chapter of Daniel, for instance, these interactions between coordinate systems are recorded. And they are no further away from you than the length of your arm yet completely undetected by your senses.
