Wolf Blitzer invited Marie Harf on CNN’s Situation Room this afternoon. Blitzer sought her out to expand on her remarks on the administration’s approach to dealing with the Islamic State terrorists. Harf thinks that we must attack old-fashioned “root causes” of the material kind. Harf is promoting Great Society liberalism as the answer to “violent extremism.”
Great Society liberalism couldn’t even cut it in the United States with more limited (if still ambitious) goals. Touting the rollout of Great Society liberalism worldwide as the answer to religious fanaticism betrays a mind-boggling stupidity.
Jobs programs don’t quite cut it when you’re in the 72 virgins business. This is where the administration’s comprehensive denial of the motive forces driving the terrorists is key. They aren’t looking for work. They aren’t looking to get rich. They aren’t looking for daycare programs. They’ve got something else on their mind, something else that is taboo to speak of in the higher reaches of the Obama administration.
“I’m not the first person to say something like this,” Harf said this afternoon. “Military commanders that we’ve had throughout many years here fighting this war on terrorism have said the exact same thing, that in the short term when there’s a threat like ISIL. We’ll take direct military action against these terrorists. We have done that. We are doing that in Iraq and Syria. But longer term, we have to look at how we combat the conditions that can lead people to turn to extremism.”

This is not Marie Hart speaking as an individual. This is Obama ideology spoken for him by a once noble State Department. This country has slipped over the edge into insanity. This is a perilous time for the world and our once Mighty and Great Country. The time is drawing near for total catastrophe. It is so sad what we have allowed to happen.

The terrorists aren't oppressed by poverty. Bin Laden was a millionaire. They aren't beaten down by lack of work, they're quitting jobs to join Jihad. They aren't directionless, they know exactly where they're going. They aren't misguided souls, they're people who have exchanged their souls for a sanction for torture and murder. They're doing this because they like it. And whatever else you might say about them, they're perfectly honest on that point.
Go away, Marie, for God's sake just swap your classroom bromides for a clue in the real world, because sooner or later the real world will come calling and it won't be for a nice dorm-room conversation on "root causes."

We can take this farther, the root cause of stupidity is liberalism.
This is so stupid it is hard to believe they think people are going to buy this insanity. But then, they though we would buy that an obscure video caused spontaneous attacks in Benghazi.
I think it is important to remember that this spokesperson is just saying what she is told to say. This is coming directly from the top. Obama and John Kerry and the State Department.
We are in deep, deep trouble here with this being the thinking of top people in our government.
Even if it were true that jobs would end terrorism (laughable on its face) how in the world would we accomplish this? This is just not feasible. Places in the Middle East are in population overshoot with regard to their resources and we can’t do anything about that. It is simply unsustainable.
