the SS109 projectile does not meet the federal definition of armor piercing. To classify it as such needs an act of Congress. ATF is outside of their mandate. They may interpret law but they cannot make law. The definition is perfectly clear in Federal Code and this doesn’t cut it.

I have a Carbon 15 pistol made by Bushmaster which shoots .223 and accepts standard 30 round magazines as well

Can the ATF just decide to ban something, without going through congress?

Oh, I know with this fascist regime, the EPA can just decide to crush industries with carbon credit requirements, Obama can just decide to amnesty illegals, so why not all the other agencies?

Just seems illegal, in what used to be the US.

The ATF has a history of committing fraud, perjury, and breaking firearms to make them full auto.

JPFO has a great documentary called The Gang.

Well, essentially that's what the Congress has done.
(Never let them get away with their handwringing and Oh! The executive [or judicial] is doing this stuff and we can't stop them!)

Just seems illegal, in what used to be the US.

Aye — The federal government ought to be put on a tight leash.

Depends on the wording of the statutes, I suppose. Congress usually delegates broad authority to fedgov agencies, and they seem to take full advantage of it.

This is what comes from an expansive Commerce Clause.

OK, ban 5.56 and .223. we'll just shift to .308 and 30-06.

Can't deer hunt with a .223 because it's too small.

I guess you're to stupid to figure it out. (the fed's that is.)

Original design and military issue, yeah, But the newer ones can be had in either cartridge.
Although I guess technically the NATO chambered ones should be called AK-100 variants

“Congress usually delegates broad authority to fedgov agencies, and they seem to take full advantage of it.”

That’s too bad. We’ve become so fascist, with a lot of it behind the scenes through these government agencies. And congress if any color doesn’t seem to want to stop it.

What was it Reagan said? Something about when fascism cones to America, it will come in the name of liberalism. How wise he was! I don’t think TPTB will stop at just controlling our businesses, outright ownership will be next. Like single payer health care.

I'm guessing that most of your folks are already aware of this latest big of regulatory overreach.

A check of all the bulk ammo sites reveals that prices have already gone up an average of 50 percent, most of which is sold out already anyway.

Thanks for the ping. Yeah, literally 30 minutes after this became public most M855 ammo was gone, except for the larger quantities... at higher prices.

"The BATF is not being truthful......" Period.

The purpose of the BATF is to relieve you of your firearms.

It is what they do, however they can.

The wordsmithing is only sleight of mind, while they nibble at the cheese.
