One place I visited in the 90s that I liked was Grenada. No slums, lots of land. The government gives everyone a parcel and a water hookup and they build their own house, and there’s stuff growing everywhere that’s good to eat. No welfare for able bodied people, if you can’t find a job you can work for the government fixing the roads. Most people find something else. And they even had pictures of Ronald Reagan hanging in the stores.

Thanksgiving Day in Grenada remembers the US invasion and liberation. Reagan took a lot of heat for that, but in the end, he was right.
