You can't go wrong with Arizona if you pick the right town. I really don't think there is a better retirement destination in the USA. Summers aren't that bad - Phoenix at a dry 115 degrees is a whole lot more pleasant than a humid 95 in other parts of the country.

All the nasty things liberals (especially Californians) say about us amount to a glowing recommendation. :)

115 is warm. But if you don’t have to work out in it or hump a rucksack in body armor , totally bearable.
