Newt is the best on the attack.
His problem is that once he wins a battle or two he starts cooking with the big, expensive, global (or galactic) ideas as his sweaty little god-complex kicks in.
He’s best on the attack, no doubt about it. He’d make an excellent *running mate* for a POTUS candidate, as would some others. He might be good on the ticket to geographically balance, say, Scott Walker, who hasn’t been in DC, and ‘elder statesman’ Newt has. And having Newt the global warming demagogue on there would undercut those kinds of criticisms.
He wouldn’t be a good fit with another southern politician, or another east coast candidate (Jeb, Christie, Rubio, Cruz, Jindal).
Another VP fit — one who definitely shouldn’t be in the top spot — would be Carly Fiorina, although she’s little known outside California, and Cali is rarely in play for a Pubbie ticket. Having a woman on the ticket probably couldn’t hurt.
Having Sarah and Carly on the ticket together, now that would comprehensively shatter the war on women meme — and of course the Demwits would revert to a war on minorities meme.
