I agree that simply slapping God onto the Constitution does not make this a Godly nation. Britain still recognizes God, Scotland still claims to adhere to the Westminster Confession but obviously this alone doesn’t make them Godly nations. In fact their actions suggest otherwise.

However what the Constitution does is explicitly say this is not a Godly country. The very first line makes that plain when the founders decided that government was ordained by “we the people” rather than God.

Please show me where the Constitution "explicitly" says we are not a Godly country? Because the line you referenced doesn't even mention God, explicitly or other. In case you didn't know it, explicit means, "leaving no question as to meaning or intent." They did not exclude God, because "We The People" are the actions of God; most of these men were Godly men, acting on His guidance and Word. They prayed before every session.

The only thing you have stated is YOUR interpretation and opinion of the first line. That doesn't make it correct. If I say, "I wish you good health." Since I didn't say "God and I wish you good health," does that mean I hope you have Godless health? That is your premise, in this article. Because they didn't specifically mention God, then they were creating a Godless country - that is simply, your opinion, and definitely does not EXPLICITLY remove God from the country or it's founding.

I will state again, nicely written article, but your premise is simply wrong and without merit. Thanks, I have enjoyed our conversation.
