The Hague (AFP) - A prominent Dutch cartoonist at Charlie Hebdo heaped scorn on the French satirical weekly's "new friends" since the massacre at its Paris offices on Wednesday.

"We have a lot of new friends, like the pope, Queen Elizabeth and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. It really makes me laugh," Bernard Holtrop, whose pen name is Willem, told the Dutch centre-left daily Volkskrant in an interview published Saturday.

France's far-right National Front leader "Marine Le Pen is delighted when the Islamists start shooting all over the place," said Willem, 73, a longtime Paris resident who also draws for the French leftist daily Liberation.

He added: "We vomit on all these people who suddenly say they are our friends."

From a ways down on the same page: Why Would Romney Run?

Obviously, the present holder of the office has been insufficiently efficient at dismantling the country and Bush just wouldn't get the job done as well as Mitt can.

To the far Left, the enemy is, of course, Marine Le Pen.

The problem with Marine Le Pen and her party, and also with most European Right-wing movements, is that they're faux rightists. They are more akin to stupid "nationalism" than they are to American Patriotism, and, consequently, they have no commitment to the values that have made countries like the United States excellent. Le Pen is a fan-girl of Vladimir Putin, and is likely a useful idiot or an outright traitor. She'll pull France out of NATO if she could, and curse America as Russian tanks roll into Paris.

But like it or not, to defeat this plague called Islam we are going to have to work together with those we may find to be unsavory.

France is not the US. They have a whole different history than we do and different values.

Wow. The mental illness that is leftism really knows no bounds. A couple of Muslim thugs butcher 12 of her co-workers, and she “vomits” on those who condemn the thugs.

Well, I no longer care if she gets killed next time.

He wasn’t owed support before. Barf Boy can just get over himself. They took the risks and did not deserve what they got. But he is doing EXACTLY the thing that helps the terrorists succeed. He is blaming people other than the perps.

If you go and sit in a tiger’s cage you might get eaten. BAD TIGER? Yes. But what did you think would happen? Until the world crushes the criminals, we are all at risk. Some take more risk than others. Were they necessary? Each person can judge for himself. The consequences are the fault of the criminals ONLY!

"She"? You didn't read the article either did you? The writer is a guy named Bernard Holtrop who worked for Charlie Hebdo

"A few years ago, thousands of people took to the streets in Pakistan to demonstrate against Charlie Hebdo. They didn't know what it was.

To translate for you, where was the support for "Charlie Hebdo" back then? Where were the people decrying the muslim protests against Hebdo back then?

To put it in terms you might understand, Hebdo is the prolific losing football team that has no fans until suddenly they make it to the super bowl and now everybody has jumped on the bandwagon in their support...........

That's why it sucks to be a Frog. You're either a leftist loser or have a totalitarian streak. But then that's like repeating the same thing twice.

How about saying somethin` about the people who murdered your friends?

Isn't that the darnedest thing? You can't even apply the "enemy of my enemy" think here...it's like a snake eating itself.

The guy’s a Charlie Hebdo cartoonist. I understand where he’s coming from. He’s asking “where the hell were these newfound friends when Charlie Hebdo was taking insane risks” by publishing cartoons about Islam? And, frankly, these people are merely taking the safe route of saying they support the magazine rather than the dangerous step of saying provocative things about Islam.

...”these people are merely taking the safe route of saying they support the magazine rather than the dangerous step of saying provocative things about Islam”....

The muzzies are hysterically laughing about the pens and such against thier guns and bullits, and bombs. It’s considered a silly and weak response.

Frankly they are doing this to make themselves feel better about what happened...they ARE afraid.

The "let's hug it out" approach to Islamist extremism of the Obama/Clinton mindset is akin to raising pet scorpions. It won't end well.

I think his point is - suddenly everyone is saying the slogans and holding signs, but in fact, they’ll actually be as weak and squishy as ever when it comes down to actually dealing with the problem
