I think it is more complicated than that...
1. Republicans GLADLY excepted Demonrats from the other
side of the Aisle- when Repugs won under Newt Gingrich-
There were literally HUNDREDS of Demons swarming to the
GOP- and DILUTING a more conservative base.
2. As for “holding my nose” and voting GOP- just DAMN!
I have Franken up here!!- if any RINO can win have at it- like O’bummer - he is an out an out communist.
3. Money talks bull-— walks- people like Jeb ,mclame,etc
know how to get ..not millions,-BUT TENs of $millions!
and I see very few Teapartier’s helping to build a
candidates war chest - (just to do mailings costs thousands)

The Democrat Party has moved so far left that there is a vacuum in the middle of the political spectrum, which the Republicans are rushing to fill. A party of centrists has no place for conservatives. If the present paradigm holds we will need a third party to represent the right and move toward a three party system.
