Of course Rubios’s family experienced oppression as did Ted Cruz’s family and the families of many of my Cuban friends in Miami. I and my Cuban-American wife think of and talk about Cuba every day and have for the last 30 years. I could tell you stories about her life in Cuba that would curl your toes. She still has family in Cuba who are STILL suffering after 50 years.
