Those GI’s are our children and our neighbor’s children and their neighbor’s children. The Boston Globe doesn’t understand the American people who continue to fight to keep America free. Too bad he doesn’t do some journalism in Syria and I believe he may understand our GI’s a little better.

Agreed. Among those who do get more credit and fame in our society, in large measure fueled by the media, are politicians. Politicians routinely enrich themselves while in office - or shortly thereafter. GIs often struggle financially, and their entire families have to live frugally. That's service and love of country.
