What is your beef with AVG? I’ve used it for years without issue.

Me, too. AVG Free, MalwareBytes Free, and Piriform CCleaner. For me and my customers. Used to use ToniArts Easy Cleaner, up to XP, but it doesn't seem to work on Windows 7.

I don't know about Windows 8 or 8.1 -- that could be a completely different situation.

It has constant pop-ups saying something in DLL is infected, but then that it cannot be removed.
