That Finnish church is finished.

I am not LCMS, but there is a Lutheran synod that has rejected the modernism, relativism, etc. in today’s culture.
In NC, the (elected) Dem state attorney general declined to appeal gay marriage ruling here, so Repub Senate Leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Thom Tillis are filing appeal.
I don’t argue the merits of gay marriage, but the movement will use legal advances like gay marriage legalization as stepping stones to harass and intimidate all individuals and institutions, including churches to accept homosexuality and gay marriage in violation of their Constitutional First Amendment rights.
When it comes to LGBT people I am committed to the notion of “Live and Let Live” but the political activists have no such notion in their heads.
Its payback time for grievances real or imagined from militant LGBT activists who are just as crazy as the ones who think Michael Brown was oh so innocent in Ferguson, something the facts don’t show.
That’s one of the reasons I don’t think much of Scott Walker. That, and his weak statements regarding illegals/amnesty. Two issues that are at the absolute forefront in determining my vote/support, and Walker has proven lame on both.
Ironically, the Supreme Court ruled in 1958 (NAACP v. Alabama) that freedom of association was protected by the First Amendment.
I think we need to wake up to the fact that 95 percent or so of the Republicans who want our votes are able to put on a conservative act, but are not willing to take conservative action.
Walker did good with the government employee unions to balance the state’s budget, but after that I find him lacking.....
Freedom of religion and conscience is what I see in the First Amendment and they are under attack here.
Catholics are still required to fast from meat on Fridays. An exception is made for anyone 60 or over because people of that age often find it much more difficult to eat the necessary amount of food.
Also, the fast was originally meant for the wealthy who could sit all day and indulge themselves in any way they wanted. Those laboring in the fields who were lucky to eat anything were dispensed.
There is no evidence for ANY belief ... Look up "belief" and take a good look at the synonyms surrounding "belief."
My dictionary has it as ... "belief, the term of broadest application in this application implies mental acceptance of something as true, even though absolutely certainty may be absent; faith implies complete, unquestioning acceptance of something even in the absence of proof and, esp., of something not suported by reason.
The Court found freedom of association in the penumbra of freedom of speech.
Good for them!
Freedom of speech is also under attack from the LGBT militants as well.....
I see freedom of association coming in with things like a baker having to make a gay wedding cake. I know it's also a religious issue, but if you don't want to make a gay wedding cake, FOR WHATEVER REASON, you g-d well shouldn't have to.
I share your wariness of GOP leaders just mouthing the right things, but never taking action. It reminds me of the Dem politicians in the South, during my youth. They’d come down to their districts, talking all conservative for the crowds, and then go back up to DC and vote lockstep with their Dem leaders for every hairbrained liberal bill that came their way. It’s one of the reasons I strongly gravitated to the GOP, because even though their conservatism might vary, at least they voted the way they spoke. Nowadays, though, the GOP politicians have become just as duplicitous as those Southern Dems used to be.
I’ve grown to intensely distrust them all. Seeing the GOP so pathetically fold on issues like amnesty and homo-marriage, is the last straw for me. If all they do is mouth a lot of (insincere) disapproval, and then do absolutely nothing to stop it, then there is no longer a single, solitary reason for me to ever vote GOP again.
Won’t be any time now before trans-gender, bestiality and paedophilia will be considered AOK as well.
Sodom and Gomorrah will appear “clean” by the time this ends...and that it will end we can be sure.
As Ruth Graham and others have noted, God might owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology when one considers what is currently happening.
Ho-ly crap. 8,000 individuals who are willing to stand on Biblical principles.
Good for them. I hope the numbers actually reach something that’ll make a dent.
