One gun that must be strictly controlled is: government’s gun. It should only be used to protect, not violate, individual rights & freedom.
Not only did John Bingham, the main author of Sect. 1 of the 14th Amendment (14A), include the 2nd Amendment (2A) as an example when he stressed that 14A applied all constitutionally enumerated rights to the states, but 14A also grants Congress the specific power to protect citizens from unreasonable state abridgment of constitutionally enumerated rights, including 2A.
On the other hand, don’t expect corrupt lawmakers of either party, the lawless Oval Office, or activist justices to start protecting your 2A rights.
